Planning and wealth management

What I do. How I charge. How we work together.

A Venice-based, fee-only practice. Two services, investment management and financial planning, offered as one ongoing relationship. Published fees. No commissions. Read it all in ten minutes.

Fees
1.15% falling to 0.30%. 0.90% blended at $2.5 million.
Minimum
$400,000 per household
Engagement
Ongoing, not one-time

Two services. One relationship. Reviewed together every year.

I build and manage your portfolio, and I write and maintain your plan. The same person does both, and neither is sold separately.

Investment management

A portfolio built for your plan, from models I build and maintain myself. Not a product menu.

Custom portfolio construction
Models I build and maintain myself, held to your Investment Policy Statement. ETFs are a component and often the majority, alongside individual stocks and, where your plan calls for it, options.
Ongoing rebalancing
Systematic, threshold-based. Tax-aware by default.
Tax-loss harvesting
Monitored year-round, not only in December.
Concentrated stock and RSUs
Diversification plans for Westside tech and entertainment equity.
Custody with Interactive Brokers
You keep title to your assets. Westlight never takes custody.

Wider toolkit, wider range of outcomes. Nothing enters your account that is not in your Investment Policy Statement. Methods and risks in full: Form ADV Part 2A, Item 8.

Reviewed quarterly. Rewritten when your life does.

Financial planning

A written plan that evolves with you. Not a one-time deliverable that ages on a shelf.

Cash-flow and retirement projections
Stress-tested, refreshed annually.
Tax-aware strategy
Roth conversions, withdrawal sequencing, charitable timing.
Equity compensation planning
RSU vesting, ISO and NSO exercise, 10b5-1 coordination, QSBS.
Insurance and risk review
Coverage gaps, umbrella, disability. No products sold.
Estate coordination
Works with your attorney. Beneficiary and titling audit each year.

Written once. Reviewed every year. Rewritten when it stops fitting.

Planning for a particular situation: Equity compensation · Retirement inside ten years · A sale, an inheritance or a payout

How we work together

An ongoing relationship, not a one-time project.

  1. 15 minutes. No cost. No sales follow-up.The first conversation
    • A short call to understand what you’re trying to figure out, and to tell you honestly whether this practice is the right fit.
    • No documents required. No pitch deck. If we’re not a fit, you leave with two or three referrals.
  2. Weeks 1 to 12. Plan and portfolio.Year one
    • Weeks 1 to 4 gather your full picture: cash flow, assets, debts, benefits.
    • Weeks 5 to 8 write the plan, drafted and revised with you in session.
    • Weeks 9 to 12 implement the portfolio, tax-aware and at your pace.
  3. Ongoing. Quarterly reviews. Annual rewrite.Year two onward
    • Quarterly portfolio review: a written summary and a 30-minute call.
    • Annual plan rewrite: new assumptions, new projections.
    • Tax-season coordination with your CPA.

Westlight only takes ongoing engagements. If you’re looking for a one-time plan or a single second opinion, we’re not the right fit, and I’ll tell you that on the first call.

Published, tiered, and reviewed on every statement.

Westlight is fee-only. What you pay is what the firm earns: no commissions, no product fees, no revenue-sharing. The schedule is graduated, so as your household grows, the marginal rate falls.

$400,000

Household minimum in investable assets. Most clients arrive between $500,000 and $5 million. I’ll be honest on the first call if the fit isn’t right.
